Specialist Anaesthetist Vacancy

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Anaesthetist to join our team at Mackay Base Hospital. As a Specialist Anaesthetist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services and contributing to the development of anaesthesia services within our department.

The role involves assisting the Director in delivering anaesthesia care for various procedures, including pre-assessment clinics and acute pain services. You will also be required to supervise junior medical staff and educate medical professionals, Allied Health personnel, and community groups on anaesthesia best practices.

Mackay is a vibrant regional centre with a diverse economy and natural beauty. The hospital has undergone redevelopment, offering state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality clinical services as a Specialist Anaesthetist
  • Contribute to the development of anaesthesia services within the department
  • Supervise junior medical staff and ensure their professional growth
  • Educate medical professionals, Allied Health personnel, and community groups on anaesthesia best practices
Requirements:
  • Registered specialist with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent
