Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Registered Nurse at our facility. This is a permanent part-time opportunity that will involve working varied shifts across a rotating roster from Monday to Saturday.

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the supply of blood products in Australia. Your responsibilities will include greeting and interviewing potential donors, providing clinical oversight, and guiding other team members in the blood collection process.

To be successful in this position, you will require a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent, and hold a current AHPRA registration. You must also be flexible and able to work varied shifts, including weekends and afternoon shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough interviews with potential donors to assess their eligibility and suitability for donation
  • Provide expert clinical guidance to other team members during the blood collection process
  • Perform routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests to ensure donor safety
  • Set up and configure equipment for blood collection
  • Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood and plasma
  • Respond effectively to any adverse donor reactions, providing clear instructions and physical assistance as needed
  • Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next appointment
Requirements
  • Frequent lifting of up to 22.7kgs
  • Ongoing standing, walking, and bending to set up and pack down machines and blood products
  • Proven expertise in nursing with a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and afternoon shifts
  • A reliable vehicle and driver's license (if applicable)
