  • We are seeking an accomplished Senior Legal Counsel to lead legal functions across franchising, commercial contracts, governance, and risk.

About the Role:

This is a key leadership position within our business. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of legal matters spanning Australia and New Zealand markets.

  • Franchise Compliance: managing all franchise legal documentation, including agreements, disclosure documents, and compliance registers.
  • Commercial Contracting: preparing, negotiating, and reviewing contracts such as supplier agreements, sponsorship deals, and property leases.
  • Governance & Risk: advising on risk management, privacy matters, and legislative developments; participating in internal committees as needed.
  • Board Reporting: preparing accurate and concise legal updates for board consideration.
  • External Counsel Engagement: managing instructions and relationships with external advisors.
  • Leadership: providing guidance to a capable team member.

The ideal candidate will have:

">

• 5+ years' post-admission experience, ideally in a franchising-heavy environment.

">

• Proven experience with franchise law, including preparing disclosure documents and managing franchisee relationships.

">

• Strong commercial contracting experience, with the ability to balance legal risk against business needs.

">

• The confidence to work independently and interface with executives and cross-functional teams.

">

• A collaborative and practical approach, and the ability to work at pace in a large, evolving business.
