About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and intelligent analyst to join our team at the Department of Defence. As a Capability Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring our workforce, skills, and expertise are resilient and ready to respond quickly to national emergencies.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Defence's senior leadership priorities, including the National Defence Strategy 2024. You will be responsible for managing the governance and policy development, engagement, and communication for senior Steering Committees and Boards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement preparedness policies and plans to ensure Defence is ready to respond to national emergencies.
  • Manage the requirements and capability analysis for preparedness of the current force-in-being and future integrated focused force.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategic, agile, and evidence-based solutions to support Defence's preparedness function.
Requirements
  • Experience in leading teams, managing resources, and developing strategies.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
  • Highly developed time and task management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to build and maintain constructive professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
