As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the primary electrical design of high-voltage transmission and renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will assist in developing primary substation design packages, including equipment layout, cable routing, earthing, and general arrangement drawings.
  • Your tasks will include supporting basic engineering calculations such as equipment sizing, cable selection, and voltage drop assessments.
  • You will contribute to design documentation and assist with drafting markups using AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments (e.g., Safety in Design workshops), and quality checks under supervision.
  • Help review manufacturer drawings and technical documentation as part of procurement support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of design packages and documentation.
  • Seek mentorship from experienced engineers and actively engage in learning opportunities to develop technical competence.

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems. Relevant experience in electrical design, preferably within the substation, transmission, or renewable energy sectors, is also desirable. You should have a basic understanding of electrical principles and Australian/international standards for substation design, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
