About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clean Energy Policy Specialist to join our team at D'Arcy Weil. As a key member of our policy team, you will play a critical role in driving impactful policy initiatives within the clean energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Draft Policy Proposals: Create and submit policy proposals, position papers, and submissions related to clean energy to government agencies, industry bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Policy Analysis and Advocacy: Analyze and interpret legislative and regulatory changes impacting the clean energy sector, and advocate for clean energy policies with government agencies, industry bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Policy Advice and Support: Provide policy advice and support to internal teams and member organizations, and monitor and report on policy developments, trends, and emerging issues in the clean energy sector.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to gather insights and build consensus on policy positions, and coordinate and participate in policy working groups, committees, and forums.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to support policy development and advocacy efforts, and prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and briefings to stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications and Attributes
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Environmental Science, Law, or a related field, and minimum 3 years of experience in policy development, analysis, and advocacy within the clean energy or environmental sector.
  • Skills and Attributes: Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework governing the clean energy sector, excellent research, analytical, and communication skills, and proven ability to develop and advocate for policy positions effectively.
  • Person Attributes: Strategic thinker with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, high level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct, and passion for clean energy and sustainability.
