About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Policy Specialist to join our team at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. As a key member of our Climate Action and Circular Economy Division, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing policies that drive climate action and build a circular economy in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality policy advice to support the Victorian Government's climate action and circular economy agenda.
  • Conduct policy analysis and research to inform policy decisions and recommendations.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry, and community groups, to gather input and feedback on policy proposals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the division to develop and implement policies that achieve our climate and circular economy goals.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to colleagues on climate and circular economy policy issues.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in a field such as environmental science, policy, or a related field.
  • Experience in policy analysis and development, with a focus on climate and circular economy policy.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop policy recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders, including government agencies, industry, and community groups.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on achieving shared goals and outcomes.
