As a pivotal Policy Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping and advancing policy initiatives that promote sustainable energy solutions. This position is integral to an organisation dedicated to facilitating the transition towards renewable energy and ensuring a positive impact on both the environment and society.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate and draft policy documents, including proposals and position statements related to clean energy.
  2. Evaluate and interpret changes in legislation and regulations affecting the clean energy landscape.
  3. Promote clean energy policies through engagement with governmental bodies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  4. Provide strategic policy guidance and support to internal teams and member organisations.
  5. Track and report on policy trends, developments, and emerging challenges within the clean energy sector.
  6. Facilitate and participate in policy-focused working groups, committees, and forums.
  7. Conduct thorough research and analysis to underpin policy development and advocacy initiatives.
  8. Engage with stakeholders to collect insights and foster consensus on policy matters.
  9. Prepare and present reports, briefings, and presentations to stakeholders and senior management.
  10. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government representatives, industry leaders, and community organisations.
  11. Contribute to the creation of strategic initiatives and advocacy campaigns.
  12. Represent the organisation at industry conferences, public consultations, and relevant events.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Environmental Science, Law, or a related discipline.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in policy development, analysis, and advocacy within the clean energy or environmental sectors.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of the legislative and regulatory frameworks governing the clean energy industry.
  4. Exceptional research, analytical, and communication abilities.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to effectively develop and advocate for policy positions.
