Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Procurement Specialist to join our team at Oceaneering. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing plans that meet the company's business needs.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated and experienced procurement professional to work in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing business needs and developing strategies to meet demand and requirements. You will also be responsible for executing the process of ordering goods, services, and supplies to support operations and services, in accordance with prescribed purchasing policies, regulations, and procedures.

You will work closely with operational business segments to understand their business strategies and needs, and develop and maintain a supplier portfolio to meet current and future demand. This will involve reviewing and analyzing purchase requisitions, identifying potential bidders, and preparing and soliciting bidding processes.

As a Strategic Procurement Specialist, you will have the opportunity to engage in negotiations to procure goods, supplies, equipment, and services, aiming to secure the most advantageous deal for the company. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term partnerships with selected strategic suppliers, and evaluating current and prospective suppliers through regular reviews and audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business needs and develop strategic sourcing plans to meet demand and requirements
  • Execute the process of ordering goods, services, and supplies to support operations and services
  • Develop and maintain a supplier portfolio to meet current and future demand
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions
  • Identify potential bidders and prepare and solicit bidding processes
  • Engage in negotiations to procure goods, supplies, equipment, and services
  • Develop and maintain long-term partnerships with selected strategic suppliers
  • Evaluate current and prospective suppliers through regular reviews and audits
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years' related industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will also need to have strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working as a Senior Buyer in the same field or related field, and will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport-building abilities. You will also need to have impeccable negotiation and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

Benefits

Oceaneering offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
