About this opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Indirect Tax professional to join our team as an Indirect Tax Specialist. As an Indirect Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for administering and ensuring compliance with indirect taxes (GST, Payroll tax, PAYG and FBT) across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with GST compliance, including BAS, IAS and PAYG;
  • Prepare FBT returns and maintain processes and checklists for compliance;
  • Maintain accounting and tax records to support monitoring and evaluating business performance;
  • Reconcile BAS payments and refunds for reports;
  • Maintain and register Australian Business Numbers;
  • Provide ad-hoc indirect tax advice on implications of new business initiatives and transactions;
  • Report and reconcile PAYG accounts, analyse payroll reports and perform monthly payroll tax calculations;
  • Ensure Indirect Tax policies align with organisational Tax Framework;
  • Liaise with tax authorities and assist with reviews related to GST and payroll taxes;
Requirements
  • Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant qualification;
  • Experience in taxation, preferably indirect tax;
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Strong job ownership and self-motivation skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel;
  • PREFERRED: Experience with SAP S/4HANA ERP system.
