Clinical Lead

Clinical Nurse Consultants are responsible for providing advanced clinical leadership and expertise relevant to the reprocessing of reusable medical devices across Central Queensland. This role ensures compliance with the AS5369 Standard, maintains best practices in central sterilising departments, endoscopy services, oral health services, cardiac investigations, maternity services, and other areas that use and reprocess reusable medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain strict adherence to the AS5369 Standard throughout Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
- Provide expert guidance on the safe reprocessing of reusable medical devices.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures related to reprocessing.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports on reprocessing activities.
- Current registration as a nurse through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control or a related field.
- Credentialed status with the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control.
- Working knowledge of software packages used in the clinical environment.
