Job Title:

Drug and Alcohol Support Specialist


This is a maximum term, full-time position available in Ceduna and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will work closely with individuals to provide support and guidance on managing alcohol and drug use.

About the Role:

The primary focus of this role is to deliver individual and group support to reduce harms associated with alcohol and other drug use. This includes conducting thorough assessments and providing evidence-based interventions to address harmful behaviors.

You will work collaboratively with clients to develop the skills and resilience needed to manage challenges related to alcohol and other drug use. This will involve fostering recovery and encouraging positive life changes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certificate IV or higher in Alcohol and Other Drugs or equivalent qualification
  • Current driver's licence
  • Demonstrated experience in counselling using a range of intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches for supporting individuals with substance abuse issues
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and written skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
