Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Information and Data Governance Specialist to join our Cyber Security team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the protection and effective utilisation of our organisation's information, records, and data assets.

About the Role

As an Information and Data Governance Specialist, you'll be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing governance strategies that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You'll promote a culture of data responsibility across the organisation, ensuring that we're compliant with information management frameworks and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Governance Strategies: Develop and execute data governance strategies, policies, and practices that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  2. Collaboration and Compliance: Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to ensure compliance with information management frameworks and regulatory standards.
  3. Data Privacy and Classification: Manage data privacy, classification, and records management frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards such as GDPR and the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act.
  4. Training and Support: Deliver staff training on data management, classification, and protection policies to ensure that all team members are equipped to handle sensitive information.
  5. Incident Response: Conduct privacy impact assessments and guide data breach response strategies to ensure that we're prepared for any potential incidents.

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in information/data management, records management, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-wide information and data governance programs.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR and the WA Information Classification Policy.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in managing disaster recovery and data breach incident response plans.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including hybrid and flexible work arrangements, a personal learning and development budget, and access to discounts at a wide range of retailers.
