Job Title: Support Practitioner

About the Role:
  • This position involves facilitating intake, screening, and placement of children into foster and kinship care families.
  • It also involves delivering assessments, crisis support, and therapeutic interventions as needed.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop and evaluate care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  • This role also involves delivering evidence-based parenting programs and collaborating with community partners to support families.
  • In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, assessing, and supporting foster and kinship carers, including facilitating approval processes.
  • They will lead case management planning and maintain accurate client records.
  • This position also involves providing flexible, in-home support services, including after-hours and on-call duties.
About You:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced social worker or psychologist to fill this position.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child protection, out-of-home care, and relevant legislation.
  • They should be skilled in care assessments and trauma-informed practice.
  • We are looking for an individual with knowledge of the challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • The successful candidate will hold a current driver's licence, National Police Check, Working with Children (Blue Card), and Licensed Care Service (Child Protection).
