Job Summary
Cybersecurity Architect at James Cook University. We are seeking an Information Security Strategist to join our team, with a focus on developing and implementing information security strategies that align with the university's goals and objectives.

About the Role
This is a full-time continuing opportunity, offering a salary of $119,074 - $125,947 per annum, plus up to 17% superannuation. The successful candidate will be based in either Townsville or Cairns.

Main Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
• Developing and maintaining information security policies and procedures;
• Conducting risk assessments and recommending mitigation strategies;
• Implementing security controls and monitoring their effectiveness;
• Collaborating with IT teams to ensure secure systems and infrastructure;
• Providing guidance and support to staff on information security best practices;
• Staying up-to-date with emerging threats and technologies, and advising on relevant mitigations;

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need;
• A strong understanding of information security principles and practices;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders;
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills;
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a higher education setting;
