Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Buyer to drive the success of our Sew and Fabric category. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in category management, commercial acumen, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Category Planning: Develop and execute clear customer-focused category plans to achieve sales and profit targets.
- Product Sourcing: Build commercially balanced product ranges in line with company strategy and manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, including product selection, pricing, marketing, ticketing, VM, and promotion.
- Merchandise Strategy: Successfully build and execute merchandise strategies based on in-depth analysis and customer insights to grow sales and profit.
- Price Architecture: Create and manage retail price architecture to ensure competitiveness in the market.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Market Analysis: Respond to sales and market data to make commercial decisions to maximize sales opportunities and minimize potential future risk.
- Trade Management: Trade the department, in collaboration with the Business Manager and Planner, by optimizing profit, maximizing sales, and proactive marketing and markdown management.
- Competitor Analysis: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and awareness of competitor and external trends, identifying missed opportunities and trends to maximize revenue.
- Supplier Relationships: Maintain effective relationships with suppliers and our sourcing team.
- Team Management: Manage and inspire your team to achieve success within your category.
- Experience: Proven experience as a category manager or Buyer with at least 5 years of experience.
- Education: A degree in either Textiles or Merchandise Buying.
- Skills: Demonstrated experience in working in a fast-paced, agile environment, with shifting priorities. Specific Apparel, Furnishings, or Fabric category experience is a must.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for Product: Genuine passion for product and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
