Job Opportunity

This role is part of an environmental conservation program, working to protect the state's environment and heritage. As a Field Officer Grade 1-2 EBMP Identified, you will be working with Aboriginal people, government organizations, and communities to promote sustainability and preserve natural resources.

About the Role

The successful applicant will assist with maintenance and improvement to park assets within parks and reserves. This includes bushfire fuel reduction activities, prescribed fire, and advanced firefighting duties. The role also participates in maintaining and improving park infrastructure, including buildings, roads, fire trails, and fencing.

Key Requirements
  • Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage or identification as being Aboriginal, and accepted in the community as such.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people, government organizations, and communities, with the ability to communicate across cultures.
  • Knowledge, respect, and understanding of Aboriginal cultural issues.
  • Current Australian Class C Drivers licence or equivalent, and ability to drive 4wd vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain and use MR Licence where appropriate.

This is a physically active role suited to candidates who are fit, enjoy working outdoors as part of a team, and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining precious natural places.
