Job Title: Senior Ecologist

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced environmental professional to join our team as a Senior Ecologist.

 

  • Deliver technical ecological interpretation and advice across diverse projects
  • Lead fieldwork programs, reporting, and client liaison
  • Mentor and supervise ecologists and subcontracted technicians
  • Apply your deep knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and biodiversity policies

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on-site full-time, with occasional flexibility
  • Provide expert ecological advice and input across town planning and environmental projects
  • Manage and deliver projects on time and within scope
  • Lead project reporting, contract negotiations, invoicing, and performance assessments
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Prepare fee proposals, manage subcontractor accounts, and monitor project financials
  • Promote the company's environmental capabilities and contribute to business development
  • Ensure compliance with environmental policies, standards, and procedures
  • Supervise and mentor team members and support their professional development

 

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working with a wide range of environmental planning projects with 5-10 years' experience in a Senior Ecological role
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a relevant field and BAM accreditation
  • Current Drivers Licence as there is occasional field work
  • A recognised technical expert in ecological management and deep understanding of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policy
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on quality and delivery
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
