Community Organising Program

The Wilderness Society's Community Organising program aims to build a grassroots movement and the people power needed to deliver our vision.

This role supports three established volunteer teams in Newcastle and surrounding suburbs, focusing on coaching team leaders and their campaign mobilisation and community engagement work.

You'll be supported by a National Lead Community Organiser, the NSW Campaigns Manager, and experienced colleagues across departments.

In addition to core work, you may be involved in campaign planning, delivery, and national program aspects.

This role involves inspiring volunteers, engaging target communities, and collaborating with colleagues on broad cross-organisational efforts and specific campaigns.
