Work as a detail-oriented content editor to ensure the quality and accuracy of our publications. Your exceptional grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills will be essential in this role.

This is an opportunity to join our Custom Publishing team as a part-time subeditor, working two days a week from our Osborne Park office. You will report directly to the Manager and Editor of Custom Publishing.

The role involves meticulously checking content in print advertorial features, weekly products, sales and marketing material, and branded content for online. Key responsibilities include:

  • Subediting and proofreading the Advertising department's print publications to ensure error-free copy.
  • Liaising with journalists and editors to verify facts and stories.
  • Re-writing articles as needed to fit allocated space and adhere to style guides.
  • Liaising with graphic designers on changes before pages are finalized.
  • Writing engaging headings that capture the essence of each story.

In addition to these duties, you will also be responsible for adapting your skills for online tasks, regularly checking writers' work and proofing sales flyers and other marketing materials.

To excel in this role, you should have solid writing and research skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in print media is highly advantageous.
