Therapist Expert

Make a genuine difference in people's lives with this fulfilling role as an experienced expert counsellor in a supportive environment working 3 days a week.

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based in-person counselling to carers through individual and group modalities, supporting wellbeing, reducing stress, anxiety, and low mood, and enhancing resilience.
• Deliver collaborative, flexible, and person-centred counselling plans based on assessments, risk evaluations, and client goals.
• Conduct wellbeing screenings and maintain clinical case notes, client, and administrative records.
• Utilize evidence-based therapies such as Person-Centred Therapy and CBT, incorporating additional modalities like strengths-based approaches, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy as appropriate.
• Deliver group programs addressing general wellbeing, skills training, or specific needs.

• Tertiary qualification in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, or social work.
• Registration with APHRA, AASW, PACFA, or ACA (Level 3 or 4).
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification counselling experience.
• Experience with group interventions, facilitation skills, risk assessment, and crisis management.
• Understanding of inclusive, person-centred, and trauma-informed practices for diverse populations.
• Demonstrated competence in Person-Centred and CBT; additional training in facilitation and approaches is desirable.
• Lived experience is highly valued.
