">Court Associate Role">The Department of Justice is seeking highly motivated law students or graduates to work as Associates to District Court Judges. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and acquire a detailed understanding of criminal and civil matters.
">Key Responsibilities">- ">
- Prepare files for the judge ahead of hearings">
- Perform statutory duties of the Clerk of Arraigns under the Criminal Procedure Act 2004 (WA)">
- Liaise with members of the legal profession and provide information and assistance to various persons involved in court processes">
- Undertake ad-hoc duties such as legal research and/or writing, summaries, or other general administrative support">
This fixed-term, full-time vacancy is available for 18 months, with the possibility of extension, commencing on a specified date. The successful applicant will have highly effective written and interpersonal communication skills and be able to perform conscientious professional relationships.
">Each judge of the District Court has an associate appointed as personal staff. Personal staff have the opportunity to work closely under the direct supervision of the judge.
