A Day in the Life of a Service Technician

This position is based at the Snowtown Wind Farm, located in Barunga Gap, South Australia. The successful candidate must reside in the local area, no further than 1 hour's drive from the site.

As a Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the ongoing high availability of the wind farm. Your duties will include:

  • Accessing wind turbine towers to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment during both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Tackling and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in systems such as variable pitch, variable speed control, and converters.
  • Conducting exterior inspections to ensure the structural integrity of towers and maintaining accurate service records and reports.
  • Managing and maintaining tool and spare part inventories needed for installations, repairs, and replacements.
What We're Looking For

We are seeking candidates with:

  • An electrical trade qualification registered in South Australia, or a mechanical/equivalent trade qualification.
  • Experience preparing and using Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
  • A current unrestricted Australian driver's license and comfort working at heights.
  • Strong safety and environmental awareness, a commitment to high performance, and pride in contributing to the industry and organisation.
