Senior Wool Marketing Specialist

We are seeking an accomplished Wool Technical Manager to provide expert support to the National Wool Operations Manager in our state-of-the-art warehouse.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating weekly wool auctions, supervising and managing a team of wool technical staff, and ensuring the timely and efficient marketing of clients' wool.
Responsibilities include:
- Training and mentoring wool technical staff
- Overseeing the lotting process to ensure accurate and correct presentation of wool for sale
- Coordinating sale day staff at weekly wool sales
- Providing technical and marketing advice to clients, District Wool Managers, and agents
- Supervising daily job tasks to ensure timely completion
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent understanding of wool brokering and the wool industry
- Exceptional wool technical skills and knowledge of various wool types
- Experience managing, supervising, and mentoring staff
- Strong commercial focus with problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Sound organisational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in shearing sheds or rural sheep operations
- Understanding of risk management and quality systems
