About the Role

Piper Alderman is seeking a highly experienced Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will play a senior role in leading commercial litigation, construction, and related dispute matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all work streams related to commercial litigation, including conducting thorough investigations, drafting pleadings, managing document discovery, taking witness statements, and preparing evidence.
  • Provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including preparing, advising, and negotiating various agreements such as licensing, sponsorship, IP commercialisation, and indemnity agreements.
  • Lead general commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, professional negligence, insurance-related matters, and regulatory proceedings.
  • Provide whole-of-project support and advice to companies in the construction and infrastructure sector, resolving complex construction and engineering disputes using adjudication, mediation, arbitration.
  • Advise on construction and infrastructure project delivery options, contract risks, contract management, and contract administration.

About the Team

Our high-performing, collegiate Dispute Resolution and Litigation team in Brisbane is looking for a driven individual with commercial litigation experience. This practice group has been described as a top performer in the corporate and commercial litigation space, with supervising Partners recognized in Best Lawyers in Australia.

About You

  • Extensive experience in a wide variety of high-value commercial disputes and other litigation.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a similar position, ideally supporting a team in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
