Secure Retail Professional

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our Loss Prevention team. As a key member of our dynamic retail organization, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment for our valued customers.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular warehouse and perimeter checks to identify potential safety and security concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date on Costco procedures and applicable laws related to loss prevention duties, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks.
  • Monitor and investigate internal and external theft threats, taking prompt action to prevent losses.
  • Report suspicious activities to the Warehouse Manager, collaborating to resolve issues effectively.
  • Participate in Shrink Committee discussions and detain shoplifters when necessary, adhering to established protocols.
  • Prepare detailed reports for internal use and potential prosecution, maintaining accurate records of investigations.
  • Maintain evidence and reports files collected from investigations, ensuring secure storage and retrieval.
  • Foster strong relationships with other area Loss Prevention Clerks and Security personnel, exchanging information on current and local theft threats.
  • Adhere to proper Member Service and general safety and security procedures and standards.
  • Assist in other departments of the warehouse as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years of experience in Loss Prevention, security, or a comparable field is required.

Licenses and Certifications

Completion of Floor Walk Inspection Training prior to beginning work in this department is mandatory.
