Legal Professional Opportunity

The role of Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel is ideal for an experienced legal professional looking to advance their career. This dynamic and collaborative individual will join a high-performing legal team, working closely with project teams and senior leaders.

This position involves providing expert legal advice across operations in Australia and internationally, with a strong focus on front-end construction law, project delivery, and corporate compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on engineering and construction agreements to ensure smooth contractual setup, compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures, and risk mitigation.
  • Managing claims and litigation, including professional indemnity matters, in collaboration with internal teams, insurers, and external counsel.
  • Delivering legal and commercial training to project teams to promote risk awareness and legal understanding.
  • Maintaining internal policies, implementing legal updates, and contributing to monthly legal communications.
  • Supporting the development of legal precedents and resources.
  • Mentoring junior legal staff and contributing to team strategy and growth.
Requirements:
  • A law degree and current Australian practicing certificate.
  • 5–10 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in either consulting engineering/architecture or the construction sector.
  • A strong understanding of procurement models and contract law.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous learning.
