About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Population Health Specialist to join our team at NSW Health. As a key member of our Health Promotion team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing programs that promote healthy eating and active living in the older population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement population health programs that align with NSW Health's goals and strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with community, government, and business organizations to establish and maintain partnerships.
  • Conduct needs assessments, program planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
  • Provide education and training to community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders on healthy eating and active living.
  • Collaborate with other health promotion teams to develop and implement integrated health promotion programs.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to population health.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in population health, health promotion, public health, or a related field.
  • Project management skills, including experience in planning, implementing, evaluating, and disseminating population health projects.
  • High-level written and oral communication skills, computer skills, and negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural context, particularly with members of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse communities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Current driver's license valid within Australia.
