This is an opportunity to enhance V/Line's Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS), collaborating with external transport asset management agencies to shape the future of our asset management capabilities.

The Asset Management Assurance Specialist maintains V/Line's ISO 55001 Asset Management certification, managing the annual Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) to meet Financial Management Act requirements.

This role involves close collaboration across business groups, particularly with risk and assurance teams, to identify and recommend improvements to the Leadership team. It also requires working closely with internal stakeholders to develop and lead asset management improvement initiatives.

  • Provide SME input into the maintenance of the ISO55001 Asset Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with SLA contractual obligations and ONRSR Accreditation.
  • Manage annual AMAF requirements and contribute to the maturity assessment of the Asset Management System.
  • Act as an internal business consultant to develop and lead asset management continuous improvement initiatives to support the asset management maturity capability uplift.
  • Develop and execute annual assurance and audit plans, preparing detailed reports for management.
  • Provide independent advice to ensure validity and goal achievement, identifying improvements and recommending risk mitigants.
  • Collaborate with external transport asset management agencies and risk/auditing teams to recommend improvements.
  • Act as the Enterprise Continuous Improvement Business Partner, managing non-conformity and corrective actions.
  • Represent the team in assurance and auditing working groups, producing reports and recommendations for the Executive.

About You:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in an Asset Management role, with at least 5 years in an asset-intensive organisation (e.g., utilities, manufacturing, transport, renewables).
  • Demonstrated ability in compliance management, asset assurance, and audit activities.
  • Experience in leading asset management maturity assessments.
  • A proactive problem solver with strong people management skills.
  • Thorough and methodical, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the capability to act as an internal business consultant and look after contractors and consultants.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with good active listening skills and the ability to build relationships.
