We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Community Supports Services team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enriching their lives through engaging, creative activities.
The ideal candidate will be confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs. You will be resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds, and skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
You will be responsible for providing support to clients in our community programs, which may include cooking, music, crafts, leisure sports, reading, singing, and other activities. This role may also involve providing in-home support for clients, which could require working afternoon and night shifts.
About You- Confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
- Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
- Flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
- Experience with high-needs Disability clients.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable).
- Handy craft skills (sewing, knitting, crocheting) - desirable.
