About the Role
  • Economic Strategists will have the opportunity to collaborate with various stakeholders on complex economic policy issues, ensuring the best results for Queensland economy.
  • The selected candidates will prepare high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, commentary, publications, and correspondence related to their role.
Job Responsibilities
  1. Economic analysis and advice to clients and senior executives on complex economic policy matters.
  2. Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, including communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  3. Exercising sound judgment, authority, and influence to effectively respond to team priorities and client requests.

No formal qualifications are required, but relevant degree or postgraduate studies in economics or a related field would be highly regarded. Our company is offering this role as part of its broader effort to develop strong relationships with stakeholders across government, including other business units within Queensland Treasury. This position involves:

  • Maintaining expertise in economic theory and analysis to provide evidence-based recommendations on economic growth, employment, regulatory reforms, infrastructure, regional development, industries, and the environment.
  • Preparing and presenting high-quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, commentary, publications, and correspondence to stakeholders, including senior executives and clients.
