About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Research Lead and Medical Grants Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving cardiovascular research forward in South Australia.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strengthening cardiovascular research through collaboration and grant administration
  • Managing the SA Cardiovascular Research Network (CVRN) and overseeing its operations
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and coordinating events to raise the profile of cardiovascular research
Key Responsibilities
  1. Committee Support: Provide operational and strategic support to the SA CVRN Executive and Rising Stars Sub-Committees
  2. Grant Management: Develop, promote, and administer Heart Foundation SA research grants for CVRN members
  3. Event Leadership: Lead the planning and execution of key events like the Annual Cardiovascular Showcase and Emerging Leaders Symposium
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with CVRN members, research funding bodies, and government agencies
  5. Collaboration and Opportunity Development: Identify opportunities across clinical, research, industry, and government sectors, and coordinate activities with other cardiovascular research networks
  6. Database Management: Coordinate the induction of new members and maintain the integrity of the SA CVRN member database
  7. Representation: Represent the Network at external meetings and forums
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in health and medical research or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the health and medical research landscape in SA and Australia
  • Expertise in grant management and administration
  • Experience in organizing research and networking events
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and administrative skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience managing committees
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks proactively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
