Cardiovascular Research Lead and Grants Manager

Improve heart disease outcomes across Australia by working with a leading health organization. Contribute to a dynamic team that aims to reduce the impact of heart disease.

About the Role

Foster collaboration and manage state-based research grants as part of our cardiovascular research network. Oversee operations, manage committees, build relationships with stakeholders, and coordinate events to raise awareness about cardiovascular research.

  1. Committee and Secretariat Support: Provide operational and strategic support to executive committees, including minute-taking, action items, and reporting.
  2. Grant Management: Develop, promote, and administer research grants for network members through transparent processes.
  3. Event Leadership: Lead planning and execution of key events like annual showcases, emerging leaders symposia, and capacity-building workshops.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with network members, research funding bodies, institutions, local health networks, and government agencies.
  5. Collaboration and Opportunity Development: Identify collaboration and funding opportunities across clinical, research, industry, and government sectors, and coordinate activities with other cardiovascular research networks.
  6. Member Onboarding and Database Management: Coordinate induction of new members and maintain the integrity of the network member database.
  7. Communications and Representation: Support digital and social media efforts to raise the profile of the network and its members, and represent the network at external meetings and forums.

Key Responsibilities

You will have appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work experience in health and medical research or a related field, as well as:

  • A strong understanding of the health and medical research landscape in SA and Australia, including funding schemes and networks.
  • Expertise in grant management and administration.
  • Experience in organizing research, capacity-building, and networking events.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience managing and working with committees.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks proactively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for various audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
