Job Title: Offshore Wind Technical Manager

Location: Hybrid

Green Recruitment Company is proud to partner with a leading international renewable energy developer to launch a new offshore wind project in Australia. We are seeking an experienced Offshore Wind Technical Manager to lead the technical and engineering aspects of our client's offshore wind portfolio in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the project's design and engineering workstreams, ensuring compliance with local regulations and customs.
  • Collaborate with the project team to establish the design basis at various project stages, including feasibility studies and detailed design.
  • Provide engineering input into the project description, permits, and statutory consents during the development phase, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and expertise concerning technical decisions, costs, safety, quality, and various interfaces throughout the project, including contract management and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with the project services team to build robust cost and schedule assumptions, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting.
  • Lead the technical risk evaluations, including mitigation measures and reporting, to ensure the project's technical and financial viability.
  • Prepare tender documents, define scopes for engineering studies, coordinate tenders, and manage contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Support the Development Director in bid strategy and provide progress reports to ensure alignment with company objectives.

Your Profile:

  • 8+ years of experience in a similar role within offshore wind or offshore infrastructure.
  • Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience managing, developing, and motivating teams to achieve project goals.
  • Experience working in an international team/organisation, with a strong understanding of cultural differences and nuances.
  • Working knowledge of large-scale project development processes, including feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary project management, contract management, and risk management, with a strong focus on technical and financial aspects.
  • Experience working with project services and financial modellers is desirable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, with a strong attention to detail and quality.
