About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Consultant - CFD, Wind & Energy to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting engineering assessments, preparing reports, and consulting with clients on energy efficiency and sustainability projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engineering assessments and prepare reports for proposed commercial and residential developments in various disciplines, including BASIX, BCA/NCC Section J/JV3, Nabers, and Green Star.
  • Consult with clients, mostly architects and developers, and provide design recommendations relating to energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Prepare scaled models of surrounding buildings for wind tunnel testing and geometry for CFD modeling.
  • Report to the technical director and retain client relationships by meeting deadlines and providing high-quality reports and consultation.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering qualifications, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ideal 1-2 years' experience in a similar position and consultancy business.
  • Proven technical and industry experience in energy efficiency, developing energy-saving initiatives, energy rating assessments, renewables, and Green Star.
  • ABSA Accreditation is ideal.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable presenting to new clients and major stakeholder groups.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word Processing).
  • Proven written and verbal skills: excellent report writing skills are essential.
  • Well-educated in Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics.
  • A good understanding of building physics and building materials.
  • A good understanding of building HVAC and ventilation systems.
  • Experience using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Experience in either IESVE or CFD software.
  • A driver's license is essential.
  • Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia are essential.
