Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Maintenance Operations Coordinator, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance activities on civil construction and mining projects in the Northern Territory.

This site-based workshop role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and Project Manager. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to effectively manage resources to meet maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead from the front, driving our culture and vision to achieve operational excellence.
  • Manage resources efficiently to ensure maintenance schedules are met and downtime is minimized.
  • Drive operational efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to teams and individuals to enhance performance.
  • Conduct employee performance appraisals and develop corrective and growth plans as needed.
  • Resolve problems and conflicts within the crew.
  • Perform hands-on servicing, repair, and maintenance of mobile plant equipment, including fault finding and diagnostics to prevent breakdowns and downtime.
Requirements:
  • Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade qualification;
  • Current driver's license;
  • Experience in supervisory or management roles;
  • Experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi mobile equipment;
  • Experience with Kenworth and Mack Trucks and ancillary gear;
  • Industry experience in civil/mining sectors with a solid understanding of mobile plant and crushing operations;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance systems (e.g., MEX);
  • Effective planning, time management, and prioritization skills;
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with employees, clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors;
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude;
  • Willingness to work in remote locations;
  • Hands-on approach.
