Cloud Native Engineer

As a Cloud Native Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of cloud-native infrastructure. This entails building scalable, reliable, and secure container management and orchestration services for Azure.

Our team is dedicated to advancing the capabilities of Kubernetes and auxiliary components on Azure. We strive to improve the quality of service for Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service and accelerate development velocity for all engineers.

We are seeking individuals with expertise in container technologies and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Ideal candidates are passionate about developing tools that streamline the software development lifecycle, enabling teams to build, deploy, and scale applications efficiently on Azure.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of DevOps tooling and infrastructure automation. Engineers will collaborate across teams to solve complex challenges, improve system reliability, and enhance the developer experience through thoughtful design and engineering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advance the capabilities of Kubernetes and auxiliary components on Azure
  • Improve quality of service for Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service
  • Accelerate development velocity for all engineers
  • Balance pragmatism with vision; deliver continuous improvements to the team's process and codebase
  • Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents
Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. Alternatively, equivalent experience is required.

Additionally, we require 1+ years of experience in commercial software development or 1+ years of experience in building, shipping, and operating reliable, distributed solutions. Proficiency in containers and Kubernetes is essential.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience with Golang and Linux, demonstrating proficiency in backend development and system-level programming.
  • 1+ year(s) experience using GitHub Copilot, contributing to efficient AI-assisted coding workflows and automation.
  • 1+ year(s) experience engaging in site-reliability engineering (SRE), including monitoring, incident response, and ensuring system scalability.
