Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Housing/Shelter Support Worker. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct support to residents, including counseling, life skills building, and advocacy.

The Housing/Shelter Support Worker will work closely with the Site Supervisor and Team Lead to identify client problems, needs, and risks. They will participate in developing and implementing short-term intervention plans, gathering information, and evaluating progress.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma in a related human/social service field and a minimum of one year recent related experience. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities
  1. Client Support: Provide direct support to residents, including counseling, life skills building, and advocacy.
  2. Intervention Planning**: Develop and implement short-term intervention plans in collaboration with the Site Supervisor and Team Lead.
  3. Information Gathering**: Gather information relevant to client problems, needs, and risks through interviews, observations, and inventory checklists.
  4. Progress Evaluation**: Evaluate the effectiveness of intervention plans and report progress to supervisors.
  5. Team Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with team members to address client concerns and develop intervention plans.
  6. Maintenance and Housekeeping**: Assist with laundry, maintenance tasks, and upkeep of common areas.
  7. Crisis Management**: Respond to medical emergencies, including overdoses, and provide emergency first aid.
  8. Documentation**: Maintain accurate records and statistics, including electronic log notes and reports.
