Regional Automation and Robotics Lead

This is a pivotal role in shaping regional automation and robotics strategy by driving technical excellence, fostering innovation, and laying the foundations for future-proof solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proof of Concept Development
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to align frameworks, share assets, and strengthen delivery.
    • Develop strategic partnerships with universities, industry leaders, and government agencies to drive business growth and secure funding.
    • Lead solution design and proof-of-concept delivery, integrating automation and robotics technologies to support customers' ambitions.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence across the region.
  • Business Model Transformation & Partnerships
    • Support senior leadership to achieve regional sales and profit targets by co-developing customer solutions and engaging with key stakeholders.
    • Drive sustainable business models leveraging proof-of-concept capabilities and expand engineering and service businesses.
    • Build alliances with universities, OEMs, system integrators, and industry leaders to accelerate growth opportunities.
  • Regional Leadership & Delivery (VIC/SA/TAS)
    • Mentor and guide regional engineers, ensuring structured processes, high-quality delivery, and adherence to safety and business best practices.
    • Coordinate cross-functional resources to optimise outcomes and represent the organisation at executive forums, trade shows, and industry seminars.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree with at least 8+ years' experience in automation, robotics, or industrial solutions, including project management.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams, take ownership of results, and drive change with resilience.
  • Business acumen: Skilled in developing compelling proposals, securing funding or grants, and shaping innovative business models.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Excellent communication skills with a track record of building partnerships with government, universities, industry leaders, and internal teams.
  • Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of automation and robotics technologies (PLCs, SCADA, robotics, Industry 4.0) with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
