Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Inspire a Team: Lead a team of highly skilled and experienced cloud specialists, responsible for AWS and Azure infrastructure services.
  • Cultivate a DevOps Culture: Cultivate a DevOps culture and practice within the team, ensuring a deep understanding of the tools, processes, and mindset is achieved over time.
  • Ensure Deliverables: Ensure the team's deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are consistently of high quality.
  • Manage Relationships: Manage relationships with the business to understand their needs and problems, ensuring solutions and services are meeting their requirements.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively the impact of technical changes to internal IT and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure appropriate policies, processes, and guidelines are documented and regularly updated.
  • Partner with Development Teams: Partner with business-led development teams to understand application lifecycle challenges and design cloud platform solutions to automate and streamline their processes.
  • Provide After-Hours Assistance: Provide after-hours assistance where required to ensure 24x7 availability of service.
  • Establish Enterprise Landing Zones: Establish and maintain enterprise landing zones that are scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Ensure Security and Compliance: Ensure cloud infrastructure meets HCF security and compliance requirements, such as encryption, backup, disaster recovery, and auditing.
  • Provide Expert Input: Provide expert input and guidance in the planning and design phase of projects to ensure deliverables are consistent with HCF's technology infrastructure strategy and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Experience: Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure with AWS and/or Azure, with at least 5 years' experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience of leading cloud infrastructure and/or systems engineering teams.
  • Automation and DevOps Experience: Proven experience in managing cloud automation and DevOps practices.
  • Design and Review Experience: Proven experience leading the design and review processes for new and migrating systems.
  • Communication and Teamwork Skills: Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to other business units. Team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Business Continuity Experience: Demonstrable business continuity or disaster recovery planning experience.
  • Mentoring and Coaching Experience: Experience in mentoring and coaching team members and other key stakeholders on cloud transformation and best practice.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Regulated Industry Experience: Experience in a regulated industry, such as APRA.
  • Automation Tools Experience: Experience with automation tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, or Azure DevOps.
