Job Title:

Urban Forestry Specialist

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining our urban forest assets. As an enthusiastic Arborist, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to ensure the successful delivery of various tree maintenance programs.

This position involves undertaking arboriculture and parks maintenance tasks and programs according to our standards, policies, and management plans. You will also contribute to the maintenance and improvement of our Urban Forest following contemporary arboriculture practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Arboricultural services including pruning, planting, removals, and other associated works.
  • Maintenance of equipment and tools ensuring chainsaws and arboriculture equipment are properly maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Operate Council plant and equipment, including cutting tools, elevated work platforms, trucks, and travel towers.
  • Provide professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered, you should have:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture) or equivalent.
  • Chainsaw Operators Certificate (Level 1/2).
  • Heavy Rigid Vehicle License with experience driving above 15 tonnes, GCM.
  • High Risk Work License for Elevated Work Platforms.
  • Traffic Management Certificate.
  • Certificate II ESI Powerline Vegetation Control.
  • Current Victorian Driver's License.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • No relevant criminal record in a Police Check.
