Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Satellite Systems Engineer Intern to join our APAC Engineering team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the implementation, support, and maintenance of satellite access networks with a focus on RF and baseband technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage performance and configuration of RF and baseband systems
  • Resolve day-to-day issues and faults in satellite access networks
  • Contribute to the development of software solutions to automate and track satellite access network performance and status
  • Collaborate with other engineers to ensure effective resolution of satellite network issues

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Telecommunications Engineering, Satellite Communications, Electrical Engineering, or related subject area
  • Hands-on development experience with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Knowledge of LINUX OS platform
  • Knowledge of Microsoft data analytics platforms such as PowerBI
  • Must be within commutable distance to the Melbourne Viasat office

What We Offer

  • Familiarity with satellite ground system network architecture and topologies
  • Understanding of design and commissioning of modern digital radio communications systems, preferably involving satellite communications networks
  • Understanding of radio systems and modulation schemes
  • Familiarity with analysis of systems requirements, identification of gaps, and advising on implementable solutions
  • Familiarity with networking and cloud computing concepts
  • Hands-on development experience with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Experience with web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
