A great way to make a difference in someone's life is to become a social visitor. This role involves visiting an elderly woman who is passionate about her Welsh roots and archaeology. She enjoys talking about her career, Egyptology, and her favourite TV programs. The visits can be weekly or fortnightly, depending on your availability.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for someone with excellent communication skills to visit this remarkable woman. Your conversations will help improve her quality of life and reduce feelings of isolation. You will have the opportunity to learn about her fascinating life experiences and share your own stories.
This volunteer opportunity is part of a scheme funded by the Australian Government to promote connections between older people and volunteers in their local community.
Requirements- Be 18 years or older
- Have a National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by our organisation
As a social visitor, you will have the chance to:
- Develop your communication and interpersonal skills
- Makes a positive impact on someone's life
- Meet new people and build relationships
You will also gain experience working with older adults and contribute to a meaningful cause. If you are passionate about making a difference in someone's life, we encourage you to apply for this role.
