Job Description

Enjoy a cuppa and conversation with a woman full of warmth andrich life experience.

We're looking for a volunteer to visit a lovely, faith-filledwoman once a week for an hour of companionship. Originally from West Africa,she has a rich cultural heritage and a lifetime of stories to share.Aformer businesswoman and talented seamstress who once specialised intie-dyeing, she now enjoys quiet days filled with worship music and Biblereading. Her main language is Mauritian Creole, and she also speaks English,Sherbro, and Mende. She's full of insight and warmth, with a genuine love formeaningful conversation.

Just one hour a week can open the door to rich stories, vibrant culture, andheartfelt connection

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care VolunteerVisitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established topromote links between elderly people and volunteers in their localcommunity.

Requirements

18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
•

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30 minute visit between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
