Job Description

Have a passion for great conversation andfascinating life stories?

We're looking for a volunteer to visit a remarkable woman once aweek for an hour of connection and conversation. She's a retired nurse,midwife, and educator who's proud of her Welsh roots. She lights up whentalking about her career, archaeology (especially Egyptology), and herfavourite SBS programs.She shares her home with a small bird and wouldlove someone to chat with about life, learning, and everything in between. Your visit could be the highlight of her week

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care VolunteerVisitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established topromote links between elderly people and volunteers in their localcommunity.

18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30 minute visit between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
