Responsibilities
  • Inspect construction work on infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with standards
  • Collaborate closely with contractors, designers, utility companies, and local residents to develop effective communication and teamwork on active projects
  • Keep accurate field records, including daily reports, measurements, and calculations that track progress and support timely payments
  • Perform basic material testing (e.g., soil compaction, concrete strength) to ensure quality and durability
  • Utilize software tools to document and manage project details
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned to support project success and gain exposure to various aspects of the construction process
Qualifications
  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in the field
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and standards
  • Interest in learning construction administration software like AASHTOWare Project and/or Appia
  • Familiarity with or enthusiasm for Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Bluebeam
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and able to perform physical tasks like lifting, standing, walking, or stooping for extended periods
