Alcohol and Other Drug Support Specialist

The Salvation Army is seeking compassionate AOD support workers to provide practical and emotional support to women with alcohol and other drug misuse issues.
This role is instrumental in facilitating program engagement, developing effective relationships, and offering relevant intervention. You will work as part of a team to achieve the best outcomes for participants and help them improve their health and wellbeing.
- Developing effective relationships and offering relevant intervention including psycho-social educational groups
- Organising enjoyable social activities to ensure participants remain actively engaged
- Working as part of a team with case managers and other support workers
- Managing participant behaviour in line with program policies
Key skills include:
- Relevant experience in a social service environment and AOD sector
- Sound experience working with women from diverse backgrounds and complex support needs
- Certificate IV in AOD or AOD Skillset
- Current VIC Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
