AOD Support Specialist Role

This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work with clients who require support and guidance in managing alcohol and other drug use.

As an AOD Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment that promotes recovery and wellness.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering evidence-based interventions to clients undergoing withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs.
  • Assisting in the development of individualised treatment plans and making referrals as needed.
  • Providing administrative support and completing discharge summaries.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and facility maintenance.
  • Transporting clients and delivering medications as per program policy.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs or equivalent qualification.
  • Competencies in dual diagnosis and experience working with people with complex needs.
  • Experience developing individual treatment plans and post-withdrawal planning.
  • Experience delivering group work and working with people who have experienced trauma.
  • Sound knowledge of harm minimisation principles and practices.
