Job Overview

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance is a consortium of industry partners working in partnership with the South Australian Government to deliver South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project.

This project will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels – the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in a near future. The project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

Your Role

You will be responsible for supporting all aspects of plant operations for foundations and bridge construction, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable use of plant and equipment as a Plant Specialist.

You will act as the technical interface between site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, providing practical solutions, coordinating logistics, and supporting project delivery to meet schedule and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, mobilise, and coordinate heavy plant and equipment for piling, foundations, and bridge construction.
  2. Monitor utilisation and performance, and implement preventative maintenance programs.
  3. Provide technical advice on plant selection and capabilities, and safe operating procedures.
  4. Respond to breakdowns and support repairs, modifications, and upgrades.
  5. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and logistics teams to manage plant operations.
  6. Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, compliance, and utilisation.
  7. Support lift studies, equipment planning, and WHS and quality compliance.
  8. Assist with procurement and supplier engagement, and forecasting plant requirements to align with construction programs.
About You

You should have experience in plant engineering, civil, or infrastructure projects.

Relevant qualifications include Mechanical Engineering.

A strong understanding of heavy plant and equipment used in foundations and bridge construction is necessary.

You must be able to interpret engineering drawings, plant specifications, and maintenance schedules.

Precise problem-solving skills are required along with strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.

A confident communicator who can engage and build rapport with team members and stakeholders is essential.

Flexibility and proactivity are key qualities for this role.
