Strategic Technology Leader

Seeking a seasoned IT professional to oversee and lead a team of IT specialists in delivering technology solutions that meet current and future needs.

This is a 2-year fixed-term contract opportunity based in our Western Sydney Office.

• Create a values-aligned culture, enabling high levels of employee engagement and achievement.
• Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of the area, sharing accountability for overall performance of deliverables and outcomes.
• Provide advice and deliver business-aligned and industry-leading IT services, technology planning, and project and technology service delivery, including infrastructure and operations, banking, payments, business intelligence, market platforms, enterprise systems, application development, security, and architecture.
• Ensure operational accountability regarding people management, budget, and processes.
• Lead, guide, and develop individuals and teams, including project teams where required, to effectively achieve area outcomes.
• Enable and recognize workforce performance in a way that encourages continuous improvement and maximizes the value that can be delivered through technology investments.
• Contribute to the improvement of policies, systems, and processes, ensuring the integrity and suitability of information, disciplined documentation, and alignment with industry standards.
• Identify and respond to issues, risks, and opportunities, ensuring appropriate processes and resources are in place to deliver technology solutions that are consistent with agreed service levels.

• Experience representing an IT department across a bank or similar organization.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage risks and issues to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Bank's information systems.
• Demonstrated ability to own and communicate responsibilities in relation to health, safety, and holistic wellbeing.
• Knowledge of industry standards and demonstrated ability to guide activities throughout the project and solution lifecycle, including design, implementation, and compliance.
• Understanding of Bank-wide (or similar organization) and area-specific policies and processes, and demonstrated ability to monitor and guide on compliance, as well as influence others.
• Strong understanding and technical expertise in the area under management, as well as available and emerging technology.
• Experience leading, developing, and motivating a work area or project of IT specialists who exercise independence in their work, as well as implementing strategy.
